What is Scratch?

With Scratch, you can code your own interactive stories, games, and animations — and share your creations with others in the online community.

We think coding is like dividing a task in steps.

Let’s try to think of this how you put jam and cream on scones [yummy!]

Step 1: Take scone

Step 2: Slice scone in two [let Mummy help!]

Step 3: Put knife in Jam and spread on scone

Step 4: Spread cream on scone

Step 5: Eat!

Scratch works same ways as you think of a project as number of small steps of code, in an order.

Scratch is a project of the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab. It is provided free of charge at https://scratch.mit.edu website.
